HELP CONSERVE LOCAL DRY-STONE WALL HERITAGE

I am guessing, you have already seen some well-refined dry-stone walls typical for some regions (like Karst) somewhere around the world, right? Still, have you ever wondered how they are built and how it is possible for the stones to be so tightly bonded and durable without any mortar?

You are right. Not everyone is skilled at it, but the locals in some communities are. It is their tradition.

One such example are locals, the members of the ŠKTD Farjovca association from Vojščica. We often call for work action, then gather together and renovate existing or build new dry-stone walls in the surrounding area of our village. We would be very happy if you would join and help us to preserve our millennial heritage while learning and socializing with very open local people at the same time.

The next time slot for such an event is provided below. Please note, that the number of participants/tourists who can join is limited as we want to keep such one-off gatherings on a small scale, of good quality, and not place an additional burden on the community. Find more about the limitations below.
